Steve, I think you'll find that you can not join any other company that sells and competes with any your company's products. Based on your IBO agreement they can stop you from getting a job at 7-11 as a cashier if that 7-11 sells Koolaid. Also, I think you might find that the contract that you sign also extends to your spouse AND to your immediate family. Which means your kids.

If I work my business and sponsor 30 or 60 or 100 distributors, those people are my people, not the company's people, I brought them on board, they are my customers. So I should have the right to ask them if they are interested in being involved in my new company if I choose to leave. With that said, why would anyone want to leave if they are earning a good living. If they are MLM hoppers then all the more reason why they should leave anyway.

Companies need to realize they are zero without their distributors and they need to get off their high horse and be thankful for those hard working distributors and work harder on keeping those distributors instead of constantly taking them to court.

Hii,
I agree - everyone should be allowed to leave any company anytime - I perfectly understand that! But what I don't understand is why Dallin is suing XOWii!
It's an open door policy isn't it? Yes? No?

I am an Amway Global IBO. I am free to leave Amway Global at any time--close my business. By doing so, I loose the permission of distributing their products--and therefore the profit from those sales. There's nothing coercive there. My retail customers are free to come and go at will, as well; even to purchase Amway products from multiple IBOs at the same time.

The non-compete says simply, that upon leaving I agree not to "raid" the distribution network and attempt to persuade others to leave their businesses also. There's nothing unfair about that at all. Those people are free to leave their businesses just as I'm free to leave mine, or free to stay even if I leave. They should ALSO be free of undue pressure from the departing IBO to also abandon their businesses.

In addition, I could resign my IBO status in the morning, and sign up in any other direct selling business in the afternoon. The 6 month period is to prevent an IBO from resigning IBO status in one line of sponsorship and jumping over to register in another line of sponsorship.

When I owned a Independent Business (in the furniture industry) I also had a non-compete. When I agreed to carry and market a certain line of mattresses, I entered a non-compete that I would not ALSO sell other products in that same, or a similar business. As a contractor, I required salesman to sign a non-compete---stating that they would not represent another construction-related business while working for my company. All very standard stuff.

Tom

The reason that there are no other companies listed because YOU have to lobby your company and tell them they need to join. First of all a company has to step up to the plate and take the pledge...

“As a company, we pledge to respect our distributors and the value they bring to our organization. We know our success as a company is based on the success of our people. We will not bind any distributor to our company through unfair or illegal practices, including overly restrictive non-compete clauses. Instead, we promise an open door policy and are committed to creating an environment where distributors thrive.”

...and then they have to write it into their Policies and Proceedures. Once they have changed their P&Ps to reflect the pledge then they will be listed on the site.

If you actually used a real email when you posted then you would have received communications on this.

It's easy to criticize, but much tougher to take action and make things happen Tom.

I have sent you an email to why you did not receive a response. It seems that info was forrwarding to an email that was set up incorrectly. It has since been corrected and your email forwarded to the correct recipient.

I've sent an inquiry to info@opendoorcampaign.com a week ago, about how a company could join. Get no answer at all. That´s sad.
Seems that there's no way to another company but MonaVie to get into this campaign.

Ricardo and Gina

The request would have to come directly from your company. They would have to send an inquiry to info@opendoorcampaign.com

How do I sign in my company on this Campaign?
I've seen the form for the distributor, to request the company to embrace the Open Door Campaign, but I can't find where or how to company could join or sign in for it.
Could somebody give some help on this?
Thanks and regards.
